Lake Mist
2005, photographs"I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion." -Jack Kerouac
A distinct plane exists as the only source of grounding and orientation in an otherwise abstract frame, placing these somewhere between fantastical and landscape photographs. But they are not about setting - they depict a balance between the composed and the chaotic.
The series Lake Mist shows a fleeting state of nature, a basic element in transit - water rises and swirls off a lake. Captured at night, the chaos resembles celestial forms, requiring both focus and distraction to process.
