Candela
2008, environmentIndependent work on display during Nuit Blanche Toronto, October 4th, 2008
Candela is about light and illumination in searching for knowledge, presented in sequences of relations between a human form and iconic sources of light.
A residence becomes the stage for these illuminations as the human form is shown as a silhouette in a 2nd-storey window, and is viewed from passers-by at street level. This act of looking at the silhouettes implies the curiosity of the audience and is a search in itself.
The video was produced for display during Nuit Blanche Toronto 2008 - an event with the potential for providing illumination for throngs of participants.
